Scribe
The manuscript is probably an autograph of the anonymous translator.
Annotations
The manuscript shows numerous cancellations and corrections (some of which made "inter scribendum") by the main scribe, who is probably the author of the translation. There are also several marginal variants, which in most cases offer a lexical variant to the word written in the text.
At fol. 151r there is a marginal note by the scribe/author which offers a chronological reference: "nunc semet ipsos interficiunt ad XXmila anno 1513 de mense septembris". As the note is written next to a passage of Diodorus dealing with "Britannia", it probably refers to the battle of Flodden Field (9 September 1513).
Marks of ownership, inscriptions and previous shelfmarks
On fols.
Incipit

Fol. 1r (inc. of the argumentum): "Nel p(rimo) libro de Diodoro Siculo si co(n) tengon queste cose. Della creation del mondo varie opinioni..."

Fol. 1r (inc. of the text): "Quando prima fussi generato lhomo, son due opinioni de historici non fabulosi..."

Explicit

fol.

Notes
The manuscript was part of the Library of the Milanese Trivulzio family, which in 1816 was divided between Gian Giacomo Trivulzio and his niece Cristina, who later married Emilio Barbiano di Belgiojoso. The manuscript was assigned to Cristina and was later inherited by her daughter Maria, wife of Ludovico Trotti Bentivoglio, who donated his manuscripts to the Ambrosiana in 1907.
